CHERYL SKAGGS: I became a Christian at the age of 13, and have continued to walk with the Lord all my life. There have been hard times in which He carried me, and good times when he just held my hand and rejoiced with me. I began singing with my parents and grandparents when I was just a “tot”, and music has always been a large part of my life. No matter where I go or what I do, music seems to be involved and that applies to my husband as well. I am very fortunate to have married a wonderful man who is a talented musician and singer, and he often accompanies us with his guitar, and sings with me. He is my best friend and totally supports me in all my endeavors. It is my belief that everyone has a talent to be used for the Lord. Music is my way of reaching out to others, lifting them up, and touching their hearts with the many blessings that God has given me.

KAREN KOUASSI: I am striving to be a "But even if" Christian.  I love the story of the three Hebrew children about to be thrown into the fiery furnace.  In the face of death, they would not bow to any other gods, not even to save their own lives.  Their faith in God and His eternal plan for their lives was greater than any mortal fear we could ever face.  They grasped the concept of what God truly has for us as His children which is even more incredible than we could ever imagine.  I truly strive to honor and praise Him in all things even if I feel it is unfair to have to deal with the struggles we face on this earth.  He is GOD!  Our trials can never compare to the price He paid for our forgiveness.  Whether or not God ever blesses me with anything more than He already has - and I know He will - I will praise Him in all things because "My situation does not determine His Deity". 

Thank-You for visiting the OneVoice of Praise Web site. The four of us started meeting at our place of work for prayer and singing our Thanks to our Savior. Others around us heard us sing, and suggested that we should take it on the road, So here we are. They also told us that we sang like we were one voice,  HIS VOICE, so hence our name.

NORA HALLBERG: I was born in Dallas, raised in Lancaster, Texas.  I have been singing in Churches since I was 5 years old. Singing has always been a passion of mine. My father bought me a piano when I was 14 years old.  I began playing in church when I was around 16. I taught myself to play by ear.  I pray that our group ONE VOICE will be a shining light in a world of darkness.

SANDY PICEK: I was born in Indiana, but at the ripe age of six months, I became a Texan. I have three children and a husband of 28 years. I’ve always known that God had called me to do something special, but “How Can This Be It?”.  I’m not a performer or singer! God, What have you done? It scares me God to get up there? What did you say? Honor and Obey? Are you trying to teach me something…. 

DORIAN MORGAN: Dorian came to us through the grace of God.  While trying to organize a music group at church we realized that “gold” was sitting at our feet.  Nora has always played the piano for the group, but she felt that God was intending for her to only sing, and we needed a pianist.  Dorian sits at the piano, listens to what we do, and jumps right in.  It is as if he just was waiting for us to come along and have him be a part of this group.  We are grateful to God and to Dorian for such a wonderful gift. 

MARK SKAGGS: Mark is the other half of Cheryl.  He has been with us from the beginning of time.  We use to joke with him that he would have to wear his hair up and put on some lipstick and blush, but he told us he didn’t have enough hair to put up, and that Cheryl would have to wear the make-up.  Mark is an incredible musician.  He plays the acoustic guitar, the bass guitar, drums, piano and he sings.  At practice he listens to what we sing and has such great insight to how to “tweak” the notes to make the harmony just one step better.  His ear for tunes and harmony never ceases to amaze me.  Mark is truly a man of God, seeking to do His will.

BILL PICEK:  Bill is the other half of Sandy.  Beside the fact that Bill is our number one fan, he also is our sound man and technical advisor, our web-master, our advertising agent, AND he can sing as well.  When God called this group together, it was more than just four women singing.  It was and is, the heartbeat of God.  But He knew that the group would need a cheerleader.  Someone who continues to say, “God has called you all to special place, you must take your message out to the world.  Let me encourage you to keep on singing.”  This amazing person is Bill.  Continually we are lifted up in prayer and in deed by Bill.
